Two Sedalia residents charged for encouraging kids to fight on video – KRCG

Two people have been charged with child abuse, accused of encouraging two children to fight while it was recorded. Prosecutors charged Austin M. Barklage, born in 2005, and Barbar Dunlap, born in 1981, both of Sedalia, each with one count of First Degree Accessory-Endangering the Welfare of a Child Creating Substantial Risk. On Thursday, July 14, someone called the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office to make a report of child abuse. They told deputies that they had been sent two videos showing a fight between two children. Court documents state that the video showed two juveniles at opposite ends of a living room. Two voices off-camera can be heard encouraging the children to fight each other. They can be heard giving the children pointers on how to hit each other. After being arrested, deputies said Barklage told them that he recorded the video on Snapchat and sent it to his cousin. Warrants for both were issued, and a bond was set at $7,500.
