Uptown Social sued in hit-and-run of ‘Outer Banks’ actor – Post and Courier

File CHARLESTON — Nearly three years after a stand-in actor for the popular TV show “Outer Banks” was struck and killed by an accused drunken driver, Uptown Social has been looped into the fray for allegedly over-serving the suspect. Alexander “AJ” Dmitry Jennings, 22, died from injuries after two vehicles struck him and drove off on Sol Legare Road on James Island in the early-morning hours of July 5, 2022. Jennings, a New York native, had been a stand-in actor on Netflix’s “Outer Banks,” filmed in Charleston, according to prior reporting by The Post and Courier. Seventeen days after the fatal collision, Nicholas Ashton Virgil Price, then-22, turned himself in to authorities. He is accused of being the second driver to hit Jennings and allegedly did so while while intoxicated. He was released from jail on $75,000 bail the same day as his arrest. The driver who first struck Jennings, leaving him lying in the roadway, fled from the area, authorities said at the time. As of June 6, that driver had not been identified.
