Track & Field/Cross Country August 12, 2025 SAN ANTONIO – UTSA Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox announced on Tuesday that the Roadrunners will add another experienced thrower to the squad, signing Mexico national champion David Guzman to the roster for the upcoming season. “David has already proven himself on the big stage, not just as a national champion in his home country but in two trips to the NCAA Championships already,” Fox said. “We’re excited to get him on campus this fall and help him continue developing toward his potential in the circle and in the classroom.” Originally from Querataro, Mexico and a graduate of COBAQ 13 Desarrollo Académico Deportivo (DAD), Guzman comes to San Antonio following a strong rookie season at Texas A&M – Kingsville. Guzman just earned a pair of bronze medals at the Mexican Championships in Mexico City. At the end of July in Tlaxcala, he collected silver in the shot put and also a bronze in shot put at the Olimpiada Nacional Conade 2025 National U23 Championships.
