Vandals vs. Jacks Ruled No Contest Due to Weather – University of Idaho Athletics

MOSCOW, Idaho – Vandal soccer’s Sunday matchup against South Dakota State was ruled a no contest after persistent weather conditions prevented the teams from continuing play beyond halftime.  The Vandals and Jackrabbits played the full opening 45 minutes before the weather delay. South Dakota State found the lone goal of the half in the 37th minute when Freshman, Stella Braddock, connected on a header off a corner kick from Deizha Lyn Jacinto giving the Jackrabbits a 1-0 advantage.  The two teams entered the halftime break before lightning in the area forced the match into a weather delay. With conditions showing no signs of clearing and delays continuing, the decision was made to suspend the match.  For a suspended contest to be considered official, at least 70 minutes of play must be completed. With Sunday’s match ending after just 45 minutes, the required time threshold was not reached, resulting in the match being ruled a no contest.  The match will not be made up, and no win, loss or individual and team statistics from Sunday’s action will be recorded for either team.  UP NEXT  Idaho soccer returns to the P1FCU Kibbie dome to host Grand Canyon University on Thursday, September 10th.  FOLLOW
