September 21, 2025 Freshman Dore claims third straight win, moves on to qualifying round at All-Americans CARY, N.C. — Freshman Mia Yamakita picked up a third straight win to begin her collegiate career and is moving on to the qualifying round of singles at the ITA All-American Championships at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina. Yamakita began her day against Naomi Xu of Cal, cruising to a 6-2 first set win. Xu, who went unbeaten at the No. 4 singles position last season for the Golden Bears, struck back with a 6-2 second set to even the score. In her first three set match, Yamakita fended off Xu to pull out a 6-4 victory in the final frame and seal the match. Her second match of the day came against Virginia’s Isabelle Lacy with a spot in the qualifying round on the line. Yamakita struck first in the opening set, taking a 6-4 win to move up 1-0.
