Vimeo has begun laying off staff across its global workforce, marking another round of job cuts since its acquisition by Bending Spoons late last year. The Milan-based technology holding company confirmed the layoffs this week, per Business Insider , though it declined to disclose how many roles are affected. The cuts come just months after Bending Spoons completed its $1.38 billion purchase of Vimeo in November. This is the company’s second round of redundancies since September, when Vimeo reduced its full-time headcount by ten percent, citing a need to improve focus and operational efficiency in an SEC filing. Bending Spoons has expanded rapidly through acquisitions in recent years, buying companies including Evernote, Meetup and WeTransfer, and announcing a $1.5 billion deal for AOL in October.
