Wagener man charged with sexual exploitation of a minor – WRDW

WAGENER, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – A Wagener man has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor after an investigation involving Snapchat, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office. Matthew Cory Hulst, 35, of Wagener, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to jail bookings. Matthew Cory Hulst (Contributed) The investigation was initiated on May 26 after the sheriff’s office received a CyberTip report from the S.C. Attorney General’s Office related to child sexual abuse material. Investigators served a search warrant on Snapchat’s parent company, Snap Inc., which revealed Hulst had possessed and distributed child sexual abuse material involving a female child under the age of 10 through the app on May 2, according to the arrest warrant. A search warrant was also executed at Hulst’s home on Columbia Road on Tuesday. Hulst has admitted to the offense, according to the arrest warrant.
