WhatsApp Reportedly Rolls Out Faster Message Search To Chats And Channels On IPhone

WhatsApp is rolling out a new search shortcut on iPhone that lets users look for messages inside chats and Channels without leaving the conversation. The shortcut is included in WhatsApp Messenger for iOS version 26.36.74 and is reaching some users now. The rollout is gradual, with more accounts expected to receive it over the coming weeks. When users scroll up through a conversation, a search button appears at the top of the chat screen. Tapping it opens WhatsApp’s existing search tool, where users can enter a keyword and jump to matching messages. Until now, finding something in a chat took a few more steps. Users had to open the chat information screen, select Search and then return to the conversation. The new button puts the same search function directly where users are already looking. Channels are getting the shortcut too. Someone browsing an active channel can now search its updates without first opening the channel’s information page. That should make it easier to find older posts, particularly in Channels that publish updates frequently.
