A millennial creator is re-creating her “2014 Tumblr era” and other TikTokers are equally nostalgic about it. On Aug. 3, Undrea (@c.xndrx) posted a video in which she’s seen doing her makeup the way she used to during the “2014 Tumblr era.” Of course, for those less familiar, Tumblr, as Paper describes, was the only “website carrying the torch for internet subculture” during the 2010s. As one of the “most defining internet platforms of the new millennium,” the customizable blogging platform, which was founded in 2007 by entrepreneur David Karp, seemed to define the adolescent years of millennials. The 58-second video, which features famous British rock band Arctic Monkeys’ track “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?” off of their 2013 album AM, then shows Undrea going through her once daily grunge-inspired makeup routine — which first consists of using the formerly coveted Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow pomade. Next up, Undrea uses “full matte coverage foundation,” which she says is probably Maybelline. She then buffs out the product with a Beautyblender and “bakes” her face with powder.
