Women’s Tennis Falls to LSU, 4-1 – UK Athletics

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s tennis (9-14, 1-13 SEC) dropped a tough match at home to LSU, 4-1, on Thursday at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex. Doubles play began with a quick decision on court three, where seniors Zoe Hammond and Ellie Myers earned a strong win over Alexia Marginean and Addison Lanton to give Kentucky early momentum. LSU answered on court two, as Kenna Erickson and Ella McDonald defeated Julia Zhu and Donna Le Roux to even doubles play at one match apiece. With the point on the line, Reese Sager and Asuncion Jadue delivered on court one, defeating Cadence Brace and Carolina Kuhl to clinch the doubles point and give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. Carrying the advantage into singles, Kentucky looked to build on its early success. LSU struck first in singles on court three, where Addison Lanton defeated Sager to tie the match at 1-1. Moments later, Cadence Brace gave the Tigers the lead with a win over Hammond on court one.
