Ireland Promoted To Associate Head Coach – California Golden Bears Athletics

MGOLF11/25/2025 9:54 AM | By: Cal Athletics Cal Staffer In His Fourth Season With Golden Bears BERKELEY – Peter Ireland , who is in his fourth season as a member of the California men’s golf coaching staff, has been promoted to associate head coach, Alex and Marie Shipman Director of Men’s Golf Michael Wilson announced Tuesday. Ireland joined the Golden Bears’ staff before the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach and served in that role until his promotion. He also had a brief stint as the program’s interim head coach in 2024. “Having worked with Peter this past year and a half I was able to see up close just how good a person and golf coach he is,” Wilson said. “He’s passionate, hardworking, sincere and a great dad and husband. Peter is very competitive as a player and coach and is really motivated to make Cal men’s golf better each day. He connects really well with the student-athletes, families and the greater Cal Golf family.
