Business Insider’s Post When Amanda Leigh Lichtenstein walks into a suburban mid-century house with her sister, they’re on the hunt for treasures that will make our customers happy — but they also like to marvel at the elaborate wallpaper in the bathroom. They have time now to sift through the junk drawers and basement bookshelves. Within the last few years, they both were laid off from their jobs as writers and editors. While they continue to fling their résumés into the ring, they keep themselves busy at estate sales and thrift stores. Their mother taught her three daughters how to find treasures in the junk, and Lichtenstein has always enjoyed the thrill of the hunt, but she never imagined turning their shared love for vintage into a small business.
