Jacob Powell of Lanark and Zachary Tripp of Arnprior, both aged 23, were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision reported at about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, the Ontario Provincial Police’s Renfrew detachment said in a release Thursday. The OPP said the victims were travelling south when their vehicle collided with a northbound vehicle. The cause of the crash is under investigation by Renfrew OPP with the help of the force’s traffic collision investigators. The driver of the northbound vehicle was in stable condition in hospital, police said. The driver of a second southbound vehicle involved in the collision was not injured. #RenfrewOPP wants to advise the motoring public there is a road closure as a result of a collision on Calabogie Rd between Burnstown Rd and Fraser Rd.
