Why Machine Gun Kelly Says He Turned Down Auditioning for ‘Sinners’

Machine Gun Kelly reveals he turned down his audition for Ryan Coogler’s Sinners for one specific reason. The rapper-singer made a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show , where he shared that he decided not to audition for the role of “the second vampire” because he would have had to say the N-word. “There’s been plenty of movies that come out that I was like, ah, I was supposed to be in that, or I did auditions for that. Like Sinners, I was supposed to be in that,” he explained. “The vampire, they had me set up to do the audition — it’s the one that’s in the house, so he’s the second vampire, the one that the guy comes and eats the family. In the audition, he has to say the N-word and I wouldn’t do it.” Kelly is likely referring to the role of Bert, a KKK member who was turned into a vampire. Peter Dreimanis ultimately played the part.
