An attack victim was stripped naked before being subjected to a ‘degrading’ attack filmed on Snapchat. Twenty-year-old Josh Workman removed the victim’s clothing before punching him in the ribs and head as he lay unconscious. His friend, Reuben Sawicki, 18, filmed the degrading assault and the moment Workman smashed a glass over the man’s head. The victim was then dragged to a nearby field and dumped – he had sustained a fractured eye socket and jaw injuries. The defendants then contacted one of the man’s relatives, who found him with the serious injuries. On Monday, Workman and Sawicki appeared at Durham Crown Court to be sentenced for assault occasioning actual bodily harm after both pleading guilty to the offence. The court heard that on August 19, last year, police were called after a man was found alone and injured in a field. An investigation was launched and six people were arrested – including Workman and Sawicki. Later, a recording of the brutal attack was discovered on Sawicki’s mobile phone.
