Plans have been submitted by the council to install a new clubhouse at a Darlington sports complex. Darlington Borough Council has proposed the installation of the clubhouse and a catering unit at the venue. The new facilities will be next to the existing changing facilities at Eastbourne Sports Complex, Bourne Avenue. A catering unit will offer a takeaway service with an optional café area and accessible open space and will be connected to the existing water, electricity, and waste systems. The new clubhouse is also expected to rely on existing toilets, which are within 30 metres of the planned site. No changes are planned for the existing 122 car parking spaces, and no new or altered vehicle or pedestrian access has been proposed. It comes after a new 3G pitch, changing rooms, spectator stand, and a refurbishment of existing athletics track facilities were all given the go-ahead and installed in 2023.
