On this week’s Covering The Bases, Spectrum News 1’s Kevin Shea sat down with Worcester Red Sox reliever Austin Adams. Adams recalled his Major League debut. Despite a rough outing on the mound, it was a memorable day for Adams’ family. “Yeah, really one that I tried to, well I tried to forget about, but now that I’ve actually had some success in the big leagues and stuff. I didn’t record it out, wasn’t the best. But I do remember, so my mom is from the Cincinnati area, I debuted against the Cincinnati Reds, so a lot of my family got to see it, and she got to see it too, so that was really cool.” Life as a reliever in professional baseball is a unique experience. Adams revealed what his routine is on game day. “I would say the first two or three innings, it’s going to change for each person depending on if they’re a long reliever or not, but for me specifically, I’m kind of walking around and loosening up around like that third to fourth inning, and then kind of doing some bands, some weighted balls, plyo care stuff, stretching exercises, and just staying ready throughout
