A young man who threatened to stab a girl he met on Snapchat if she didn’t become his girlfriend has escaped a prison sentence. Satvik Sangwan was found guilty by a jury last month of causing the woman “fear or alarm” over an eight-day period in October 2023, following a trial at Paisley Sheriff Court. The 24-year-old maintained his innocence throughout the trial and the court yesterday heard his position remains the same. Sangwan had only met the girl on two occasions and committed the crimes while at Lidl in the town’s Renfrew Road and elsewhere in Paisley.
