Bakersfield, CA – On a night filled with history and celebration, the Bakersfield College football team put on a dominant performance to honor the 70th anniversary of Memorial Stadium, defeating Allan Hancock 33-7 on Saturday evening. The win improves the Renegades to 2-0 on the season. The Renegades wasted no time setting the tone, scoring first on a safety just two minutes into the game. Moments later, kicker Carlos Villa went 40 yards out to extend the lead to 5-0. Early in the second quarter, freshman Corey Watkins Jr. capped a short drive with a 9-yard touchdown run, giving BC a 12-0 cushion. Allan Hancock briefly shifted momentum with an intercepted pass and returned it 59 yards for a touchdown, cutting the deficit to 12-7. But that would be the Bulldogs’ only score of the night. The third quarter belonged to quarterback and returner Carson Woods and receiver Dylan Johnson.
