Women’s Golf September 09, 2025 CORINTH, Texas — Daniela Abonce finished in a tie for fourth place and UTSA grabbed a share of eighth place with the second-best team score in program history at the Sam Golden Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at Oakmont Country Club (par 72/6,343 yards). Abonce carded an 8-under-par 208 to earn her fifth career top 10 and notch her third-best 54-hole total as a Roadrunner. The senior from Veracruz, Mexico, turned in a pair of sub-70 rounds to push her UTSA career tally to 12 and help the Roadrunners to a 15-under 849, the second-best 54-hole team score in school history behind the 837 posted at this same event two years ago. UTSA, which registered rounds of 287 and 284 sandwiched around a 10-under 278, finished in a tie for eighth with Nebraska, 11 shots ahead of Central Arkansas and only nine strokes out of the runner-up position in the 13-team field. Missouri claimed the team title with a 40-under 824 behind individual medalist Ebba Liljeberg, who fired a 19-under 197 (66-61-70).
