by Ryan Graffius Sat, October 4th 2025 at 8:53 PM Former substitute teacher accused of sending inappropriate Facebook messages to teen (FILE of Facebook logo GFX & cellphone/handcuffs image) CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Cambria County say a former substitute teacher is facing corruption charges after he allegedly sent numerous inappropriate messages to a local teen on social media. Troopers say 71-year-old Loren Yannitto, of Smithmill, is accused of having inappropriate contact with the victim, who was identified as a student at Glendale High School, during his time teaching there. According to the affidavit, police say the victim explained that she was first sent a Facebook friend request from Yannitto, when she was in the 7th grade. Investigators learned that sometime after that initial social media interaction, Yannitto was reportedly hired as a substitute teacher at the school. During the teen’s 10th grade year, Yannitto is accused of repeatedly sending her Facebook messages where he allegedly talked about other teens, specifically female students, and described how they were dressed. Police say the teen reportedly received countless inappropriate remarks about other female students from Yannitto, including sexually suggestive comments.
