MANCHESTER, N.H. (October 11, 2025) – The Stonehill College women’s hockey team fell, 3-1, to Saint Anselm College in its New England Women’s Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) opener Saturday evening at Sullivan Arena. With the result, the Skyhawks move to 0-3 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play, while the Hawks improve to 3-2-0 overall and 3-0-0 in NEWHA action. Highlights Stonehill outshot Saint Anselm, 39-33, though the Hawks narrowly edged the Skyhawks in the faceoff battle, 41-37. Senior Lily Geist netted her first goal of the season off a setup from classmate Brianna Walkom , marking Walkom’s team-leading second assist of the year. Senior Bailey Feeney registered a game-high six shots on goal, while senior Sydney Russell and junior Peyton Wise shared the team lead with two blocked shots apiece. Senior goaltender Eve Stone made 30 saves in net for the Skyhawks. Brooklyn Schneiderhan led the way offensively for Saint Anselm with two goals, while Lauren Waldo scored her first collegiate goal. Avery Wilson tallied two assists, and Lucy DeCoteau added her first helper of the season. In goal, Kayla Czukoski earned her third win of the year after stopping 38 of 39 shots faced.
