by Sam Talley Fri, December 26, 2025 at 8:46 PM Updated Fri, December 26, 2025 at 10:33 PM A restaurant on Chattanooga’s Northshore has closed its doors for good. According to a Facebook post from the restaurant, Taconooga shut down on Dec. 26. The announcement comes nearly 12 years after the restaurant’s grand opening, which was in March of 2014. Taconooga is in the same building on Frazier Avenue where a deadly weekend crash took place back in 2023. That wreck led to a significant safety overhaul last year, including changes to the sidewalks and a center turning lane. The restaurant is also within walking distance of the Walnut Street Bridge. The historic and popular walking bridge linking Chattanooga’s downtown and its North Shore closed back in March for an estimated 18 months. The social media post did not specify a reason for Taconooga’s shut down.
