Riot can’t handle FGC’s salt levels, issues statement regarding 2XKO sponsorship on Twitch

The backlash got so bad that Riot was caught in the crosshairs, causing its Global Head of Player Community to respond on X. On January 20th, streamers came forward with receipts showing Twitch constantly pushing a 2XKO sponsorship opportunity. While that wouldn’t be so bad on its own (although, dang, stop acting as desperate as an American politician in the inboxes), streamers shared the questionable details of the campaign soon after, cementing it as an insult to the FGC. Streamers would only get paid for having the 2XKO banner plastered all over their stream if someone donated five gifted subs to them. And once players did somehow manage to get the payment, they realized it was just Twitch gifting one sub back to them.
