TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men’s ice hockey team delivered its most complete offensive performance of the season tonight, rolling to a 6–1 home victory over Colgate. Six different Engineers found the back of the net, while RPI struck for four unanswered goals across the second and third periods to pull away from the Raiders. RPI set the tone early, opening the scoring just three minutes into the contest when Matthew Buckley finished an even-strength chance off a crisp setup from Filip Sitar and Ian Scherzer . Colgate briefly answered at midway through the period, however the Engineers reclaimed control less than a minute later on the power play, as Luciano Wilson buried the eventual game-winning goal, converting a feed from Sitar and Buckley to give RPI a 2–1 lead after one. The Engineers broke the game open early in the second period with a pair of quick strikes.
