(ABC 6 News) — The vendor hired to run Rochester’s Fourth of July fireworks display has committed to doing a replacement show at a later date after only part of the scheduled fireworks display was presented during the July 4 celebration. J&M Displays, Inc. said it “regrets” that only part of the fireworks show was able to happen and said it was due to a combination of severe weather conditions and crew heat exhaustion. In a press release shared by the City of Rochester, J&M Displays said the show was moved up to 9:30 p.m. because of storms approaching the area, but the the combination of extreme heat experienced throughout the day and earlier than planned start time did not allow crews to fully complete the setup of the full display. J&M Displays said safety is always the highest priority for its crew and the public. The company said in the press release it plans to provide the city with a new fireworks display at no cost on a date selected by city officials. That date has not yet been chosen.
