By Pete Wilson Telegram Editor Jessica Harper The Think For Yourself Clubhouse will host a Meet The Candidates event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 27. The public is invited to meet and hear from four Democratic candidates running for Ohio House of Representatives seats in the Southeastern and South-Central Ohio area. The candidates are 93rd District Ohio House candidate Jessica Harper, 94th District Ohio House candidate Wanda Sheard, 92nd District Ohio House candidate Sarah Senff and 91st Ohio House District candidate Amy Wright. For Jackson County voters, Harper is the local candidate. The Ray resident is a social studies teacher at Jackson High School and is running for public office for the first time. She became motivated to run after speaking out against the Ohio General Assembly’s budget which shifted financial support away from public schools while providing increased funding for private schools. Harper was unopposed in the Democratic Primary and will face three-term Republican incumbent Jason Stephens in November’s General Election. Ohio House District 94 covers all of Washington County and Meigs County, plus a large portion of Athens County.
