More than four in five LinkedIn posts now likely AI-generated – AdNews

Getty More than four in five long-form posts on LinkedIn are likely generated by artificial intelligence, according to analysis from content detection company Originality.ai. The study analysed 5,000 public LinkedIn posts published in July, each at least 100 words long, across nine topics.  Some 81.2% were classified as likely AI, continuing an upward trend from roughly half of sampled long-form posts in late 2024. AI slop, a label for low-quality, mass-produced content generated by artificial intelligence, isn’t deadly but can be dangerous for advertisers.   It’s all about gaming the system. The high volume content, often mimicking quality, can draw advertisers away from premium publishers. The findings by Originality.ai coincides with plans by LinkedIn to roll out a Seems like AI slop feedback option, appearing inside the three-dot menu alongside Not interested and Report post options.  LinkedIn’s chief product officer Hari Srinivasan said AI slop is a top priority. “We really care about this,” Srinivasan said.  “People come to LinkedIn to connect with real people and share their real perspectives, ideas and expertise.” Earlier research by detection service Pangram showed more machine created content at LinkedIn than other platforms.  The study, based on scanning 1,002,627 posts, found one in four
