Dust has begun to settle inside the Arizona Diamondbacks’ organization, for now. The ongoing drama surrounding second baseman Ketel Marte, his unspecified personal matter, unexpected no-show and Restricted List stint has reached as much of a conclusion as could have been expected. Marte, alongside his agent, had a reportedly productive meeting with GM Mike Hazen and manager Torey Lovullo on Thursday. He was moved from the RL to the injured list with inflammation in his knee shortly following. This story clearly had somewhat of an effect on the rest of the team. They were blown out in back-to-back games by the Red Sox following Marte’s initial absence, only just managing to salvage what was a massive series finale before heading back to Phoenix. Lovullo touched on the feelings of frustration and betrayal, and Arizona seems poised to move on from the incident and welcome Marte back. But inside the clubhouse, there may still be some confusion.
