Teacher banned from classroom after sending explicit Snapchat images to teenager

A primary school teacher has been banned from teaching after a misconduct panel found he sent sexually explicit images to a 15-year-old boy on Snapchat. Ross Bullen, formerly of the Priory Rise School in Milton Keynes, was issued with a prohibition order by the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA), preventing him from teaching. The ban includes a two-year review period, meaning the earliest date he can apply to have the order set aside is August 13, 2028. Importantly, the teenager was not a pupil at Priory Rise School. Bullen worked at the Milton Keynes primary school, while the boy attended a secondary school elsewhere. The case centred on contact between Bullen and a teenager, referred to in proceedings as Person A, between March and May 2023. The panel heard evidence that several explicit images of Bullen were recovered from the boy’s mobile phone during a police investigation. According to the published decision, seven distinct images were found on the device, six of which were described as explicit and showing Bullen in various states of undress.
