Source: ABI September 10, 2026 “On Wednesday evening (Sept. 9), the Instagram account of the Brazilian Press Association (ABI) was targeted in hacking attempts following the publication on Sept. 8 of a statement supporting President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s reelection. For security reasons, the platform was forced to take the organization’s profile offline. In the statement, titled ‘Consistent with its history, ABI supports President Lula’s reelection,’ the organization reaffirmed its longstanding commitments to the democratic rule of law, national sovereignty, freedom of expression and of the press, human rights and democracy.
