There was enough for both sides- the Mets and Yankees – to cheer about, with a bit of drama at the end. Now a public enemy in the Bronx, Juan Soto came up as the tying run in the ninth and tapped into a game-ending double play, as the Yankees hung on for a 6-4 victory at the Stadium. David Bednar gave up a ninth-inning homer to A.J. Ewing before completing a five-out save, giving the Yanks their fourth straight win and keeping them three games behind the victorious, AL East-leading Rays. How Yankees honored the heroes of 9/11 Inside the Yankees’ clubhouse, Cody Bellinger and Ben Rice had bats specially designed for Sept. 11, honoring the FDNY.
