Encrypted messages failed to protect a teenager who trafficked drugs using Snapchat under the username “Findweed”. Mesa Emily Perry was on Monday sentenced to two years in jail with immediate release on parole for trafficking marijuana from her Mountain Creek home between November 2019 and February last year. Crown prosecutor Stipe Drinovac told Maroochydore District Court that Perry, now 20, was home on February 21 last year when police scoured her room, house and phone. They found 7g marijuana, scales and a grinder.
