WhatsApp group distributes sanitizers, face masks

Kakching, May 18 2021: A WhatsApp group named ‘Kakchingcha Khakki E-Pao’ has today distributed face masks and hand sanitizers to frontline warriors.The items were distributed to police personnels, doctors and volunteers in recognition of the sacrifice they are making at Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC), Covid Care Centre (CCC) opened within Kakching district.Speaking to media on the sidelines of the distribution campaign, one of the admins of the WhatsApp group said that the group was instituted on September 8, 2015 with the objective of making Kakching and Manipur progressive.The group, while extending solidarity to those affected by COVID-19, expressed optimism that the virus can be defeated with collective efforts.Without police, doctors, nurses, other healthcare workers, Covid volunteers, the fight can never be successful and thus the items were distributed to them through monetary contributions from group members.As a part of their campaign, personnels posted at CHIC opened at iTt-Kakching Wairi; Kha Manipur College and Kakching Makha High School; CCC opened at Kakching Higher Secondary School and Kakching Keithel were provided face masks and hand sanitizers.Prabin also urged all concerned to increase test capacity at the testing centre opened at Kakching Higher Secondary School to ensure the spread of the virus…
