Dixon Planning Commission to consider clubhouse design for Homestead project

As the Homestead multi-housing development continues to be constructed off Pitt School Road, another new element could be coming to one of its “villages”: a 4,666-square foot clubhouse. A design review will go before the Dixon Planning Commission at its Tuesday meeting. The Homestead project is a multi-phase development project in southwest Dixon south of West A Street by Pitt School Road. The development would include 1,365 single and multi-family units, a 32-acre commercial space and a 41-acre employment center. The development is part of the Southwest Dixon Specific Plan, which was approved by the City Council in 2004. The newest planning application, submitted by Anton Garcia of project developer Taylor Builders, is for a clubhouse that also includes a 1,220-square foot restroom and pool equipment building, and would be located in Village 6 while serving the the active adult gated community within villages 6, 7, 9 and 10. The property would be surrounded by future streets known as Barn Owl Lane, Lark Way, Farmhouse Lane and Prairie Way. Associate Planner Scott Greeley wrote that the clubhouse’s goal is “to serve as a private community improvement for the benefit of those residents within the active adult, gated, community of Homestead.”…
