Facebook is developing Instagram Youth   Key Highlights Earlier this year, 44 attorneys signed a letter and sent it to Facebook headquarters urging them to cancel plans for development of a version of Instagram that is meant for younger audiences The app can be used to prey on kids and distract them as well, remains the concern for parent groups and law makers. The app in development will be called Instagram Youth, it was mentioned in their official announcement but just as a passing reference. Facebook-owned Instagram is going ahead with a controversial decision, allowing Instagram for children aged 13 and above. Facebook has faced a lot of backlash for announcing its decision to open up its image-sharing platform officially to minors. Lawmakers, communities as well as parents are split whether they want children that young to have access to social media apps like Instagram which could open the floodgates for other apps to follow.
