Andy Goram has hit out at a fake Instagram profile set-up hours after it was revealed he was terminally ill. The social media page has already attracted more than 600 followers since it was created on Monday. Dozens have been duped into believing they’ve sent messages of support to the Rangers legend. Others have pledged to raise funds for the cancer -stricken ex goalkeeper. The fake Instagram page Goram, 58, who is fighting Stage 4 oesophageal cancer, yesterday warned well-wishers he didn’t use the platform. He said: “It’s upsetting that someone would use my situation as an opportunity to create a fake profile in my name. “Taking on another person’s identity is usually done for the purposes of personal gain. “I’d hate for anyone to be caught out by whoever is behind this. “I don’t use Instagram, it’s not me who’s set-up this page. “People should just ignore it. “I’m hoping Instagram will have it removed.” Goram was alerted to the fake account – called andygoramofficial – by friend and former Scotland teammate Bryan Gunn.
