A man made sleazy sexual suggestions in Snapchat conversations he believed were with a 12-year-old girl, a court was told. But Jack Bowker, 29, was unaware the account he was chatting with was actually run by police. The chats went on between July and November last year and started innocently, the Liverpool Echo reports. But they took a sexual turn and Bowker sent messages about taking the girl’s virginity, spanking her, getting an erection and having oral sex. Despite this, Bowker does not accept he is a paedophile, Liverpool Magistrates’ Court was told. The court heard the age of the “girl” was mentioned on several occasions in their chats. After receiving a warrant, officers searched Bowker’s home on November 9, 2021 and seized electronic equipment, but they did not arrest him. He attended a police interview in April 2022 and admitted to sending the messages. In court, Bowker, of Leasowe, Wirral, Merseyside, admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child. His solicitor Colin Rawson pointed out his client’s lack of previous convictions, that he made a prompt guilty plea and had been fully cooperative with police.
