Less than an hour later, Twitter said the platform ‘should now be working as normal.’ Twitter outages spiked Monday due to an “internal change,” according the social media giant, with tens-of-thousands of users reporting Twitter outages from Seattle to Boston. “Some parts of Twitter may not be working as expected right now,” said Twitter’s Support on the social media platform at 12:19 p.m. ET today. “We made an internal change that had some unintended consequences.” There were over 8,300 reports of Twitter outages at 12:07 p.m. ET alone today, according to Downdetector. Several of the largest cities in the U.S. were hot spots for outages this afternoon including Seattle, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City and Boston.
