Chapman's Ice Cream Warns of Facebook Scammers Impersonating Company

Chapman’s Ice Cream is warning of a scam involving fake Chapman’s Facebook pages and contests.Chapman’s Marketing Manager Lesya Chapman says the company’s Facebook page has been cloned by scammers.She says, “They are running fake contests trying to get people’s personal information.”Chapman adds, “Unfortunately, one specific fake contest is gaining a lot of traction.”A post on Chapman’s Ice Cream’s real Facebook page says, “We are aware of fake Facebook accounts pretending to be us. You’ll notice that one account in particular is currently running a fake contest. They only have just over 800 followers and is not a verified page. Please do not engage with this account.”They say, “If you see this fake account, please report it.”Chapman’s actual Facebook account has been active for years and has over 97,000 followers. They note “Only information on our official page is valid; our page is verified with a blue checkmark.”Lesya Chapman says, “The main thing we want people to know is that we will never ask anyone for their personal or financial information.”She says, “Any account that has little followers or has been created very recently is a fake account.”She says the company has reached out to Meta, Facebook’s parent company.Chapman’s is inviting
