Directed by Brandon Bloom, A Crack in the Universe is an exceptionally lovely portrait of the history & times of Hope, all the ups & downs they’ve been through, with a focus on celebrating how vital they’ve always been. The 12-minute doc premiered last year and is now available to watch in full online. For decades, Hope Center for the Arts has been cultivating a niche corner of Anaheim’s musical & visual arts scene giving the city’s intellectually disabled community a place to express themselves through the arts. It’s worth a bit of your time to meet these people and be inspired by them. This short is also clearly influenced by the excellent doc Crip Camp, available on Netflix anytime.
