Several former Bears players took to Twitter in frustration after the team’s 34-30 loss Sunday to the Lions, with at least one wondering whether the franchise will fire coach Matt Nagy before the end of the season. ‘‘I saw some . . . firings in my time in Chicago none of which happened mid season,’’ wrote former offensive lineman Kyle Long, who retired after the Bears put him on injured reserve last season. ‘‘I wonder what the tipping point is and who ultimately makes the decision.’’ Former running back Matt Forte encouraged the Bears to ‘‘just throw the whole offense away . . . Coaches included!’’ As for general manager Ryan Pace, Forte wrote that ‘‘football starts in the trenches bruh,’’ a reference to Pace not devoting a single first-round pick to an offensive or defensive lineman during his tenure.
