Carroll REC Invites Public To Sept. 21 Presentation On “The Snapchat Generation”

The Carroll County Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Consortium invites the public to a presentation on Monday, designed to help families navigate the challenges of smartphones at home. The consortium includes local partners such as schools, mental health providers, and healthcare facilities, and is sponsoring a visit from Joe Beckman, an author and keynote speaker on the modern challenges of human connection. His presentation, titled “Just Look Up: Reclaiming Human Connection in the Snapchat Generation,” will cover the harms of too much screen time, the epidemic of cellphone addiction, and restoring real relationships. His talk begins at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, at the Carroll Recreation Center. Before the show, attendees can explore a resource fair.
