Why Marketers Should Be Paying Attention To Clubhouse

Steve is the Founder & CEO of MuteSix, a leading performance marketing agency that has scaled the world’s fastest-growing e-commerce brands. getty CEOs, business leaders and celebrities alike can’t seem to stop talking about Clubhouse, the buzzy, invite-only audio chat app that launched in April 2020. The new social media platform started to infiltrate the tech community late last year and is now valued at a reported $1 billion with millions of users. Industries spanning beauty, food and fashion are now flocking to the app, and Facebook is already rumored to be working on a competitor.  Clubhouse has given thought leaders and experts a space to connect in a setting that is arguably more casual and interactive than LinkedIn. Its format of "rooms" allows individuals to join, host and listen in on discussions. I like to think of it as a cross between a webinar and a podcast.   » Read More

Clubhouse: Inside the exclusive app and what it means for the beauty world

How does Clubhouse compare to other platforms? While there’s no doubt Clubhouse offers a unique, unparalleled social experience, this doesn’t necessarily mean it will replace the other big players any time soon.“We’re still using other platforms, and with the massive audiences these platforms have, it doesn’t seem like that will change,” says Shannon. “We think each app has a purpose and a place. Our challenge on behalf of the brands we represent is to provide the right information that the consumer is looking for in the right place and continue to develop authentic and engaged communities.”There are definitely things Clubhouse can’t compete with, says Marshall. For instance, it doesn’t offer recording, or the option to replay audio. You also can’t share directly, or share imagery or video. This, she believes, means Clubhouse won’t replace the platforms that offer these features. That being said, it is unique enough that other existing players won’t be able to easily compete. While platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, for instance, offer competing features, Clubhouse is in a league of its own (for now anyway!)As a reputable influencer who works in beauty and is a woman,  » Read More

The advent of Clubhouse

THE idea is deceptively simple, an audio-only platform where people can gather and talk. No recording, no direct messaging, and no streams of photos, videos or text. Just a Clubhouse where like-minded people can come together and speak. Launched in April last year, Clubhouse currently has 10 million weekly active users, is valued at US$1 billion (RM4.13 billion), and has received investment from over 180 organisations and venture capitalists. Some of this information came straight from its co-founder and chief executive officer, Paul Davidson. Clubhouse started to gain popularity in the digital world when tech billionaires like Elon Musk and celebrities like Chris Rock began to use and talk about the platform. But its surge in the number of users could perhaps also be credited to its exclusivity. To understand what Clubhouse is and how it works, it helps to imagine it as a physical place, a castle surrounded by curtain walls. It looks foreboding from afar. You walk up to the gates and are told that you need the Clubhouse app to enter.  » Read More

Account details of 1.3M Clubhouse users published on hacking forum

SECURITY Account details of 1.3M Clubhouse users published on hacking forum Clubhouse has seemingly suffered another data breach, with details of 1.3 million users published on a hacking forum but the audio-based social app provider claims it wasn’t hacked and that the data was pulled through their application programming interface. The data, which ended up on Raid Forums, was advertised as offering user I.D., photo, username, Twitter name, Instagram name, number of followers, number of people followed by the user and account creation data. In a sign that Clubhouse has a serious issue about being oversensitive, the company posted the following on Twitter, responding to Cybernews, which broke the story Saturday, saying the data had been posted for free online. This is misleading and false. Clubhouse has not been breached or hacked. The data referred to is all public profile information from our app, which anyone can access via the app or our API. https://t.co/I1OfPyc0Bo — Clubhouse (@joinClubhouse) April 11,  » Read More

Clubhouse Says Data Leak Reports Are Misleading: There Was No 'Breach or Hack,' User Data …

( Youtube/BallAlert ) Clubhouse remains a safe application for users to enjoy and utilize as the company clarifies the "misleading" reports that claimed it was hacked with over 1.3 million user data leak surfacing online. The popular application has claimed that the company has made the user profiles accessible and seen via the application and its API. The audio and invite-only exclusive application that has emerged into a massive hit during the pandemic has defended itself from speculations and doubts that have claimed it to be subject to a recent breach. The company has claimed that it is still a safe platform to enjoy and use and that the "leak" that has surfaced is misleading people into thinking otherwise. Clubhouse has been the talk of the town for the recent months, especially as it has been an on-demand application that users have been wanting to enter, but cannot as it manages to expand its services. Making reading cool again

Chonrungsri Chalermchaikit, president of Pubat. Things are a little different this year. However, the more things change, the more important it is to keep traditions alive like the magic of reading. After going online last year in response to the Covid-19 situation, the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand (Pubat) is gearing up for the comeback of the 49th National Book Fair and 19th Bangkok International Book Fair in both the digital and physical format. But due to the third round of the Covid-19 surge, the National Book Fair will be held virtually from April 17-25 while the in-person event is postponed to next month. More than 223 publishing houses have been confirmed to take part in the event this year including Book Wonderland, General Books, Education, Children's Books, Old Books, Foreign Books, and Fiction. "Although the number of publishers taking part has dwindled compared to previous years, many have still come forward and are ready to put up their stalls, which is an encouraging sign," Chonrungsri Chalermchaikit, president of Pubat, told Life during a recent round-table interview with the press.  » Read More
