Virginia RFC granted permission to develop clubhouse Published: Sun 4 Jul 2021, 10:00 AM Last updated: Mon 5 Jul 2021, 12:37 AM Virginia RFC have received planning approval from Cavan County Council for an upgrade of the club's facilities. The east Cavan club, founded in 1977, has strong competitive underage and senior teams that compete in the Ulster provincial club structure. The club was granted permission to demolish the existing clubroom building and remove the temporary changing room. The approval covers the construction of a new two-storey changing facilities and clubrooms. The planners' decision covers the decommissioning of the existing septic tank and the installation of waste water treatment system and a percolation area. The plans are for the removal of existing temporary storage container and the provision of additional car parking on site and all ancillary site development works. The application was made last May with the local authority planning department coming to its decision this week. The permission was approved subject to 13 conditions.  » Read More

Earlier this month, Black creators on TikTok went on strike to protest appropriation of dance trends by white creators, who in turn wind up getting sponsorships and earning money. Prominent Silicon Valley investor Jason Calacanis says don’t protest, create your own. On his popular podcast, “This Week in Startups,” Calacanis suggested that Black creators create their own app since most social media platforms are benefiting from Black creators and Black culture. He also tweeted his view. “Twitter, in the early days, all of the trending topics at times were based on Black culture. Someone at Twitter told me,…they created localized and customized trending topics…because non-Black people couldn’t understand what was going on on Twitter and they were afraid that white people…would leave. The increase comes due to its recent launch on Android, Google’s mobile operating system. But its monthly downloads are still well-below its all-time highs in February 2021 of 9.6 million.
