Solar installation enables Netherton Cricket Club to expand offering | Express & Star

The club currently has over 100 social members and around 70 adult and junior playing members, as well as accommodating four junior football teams. In recent years it has had to curtail some of its activities due to the increased cost of energy, but with the new solar panels installed the club will be able to stay open longer and provide more facilities.  James Lewis, Treasurer of Netherton Cricket Club, said: “The solar project has resulted in significantly reduced energy bills which were our largest static monthly expense. As a volunteer-run club, funds are tight and the financial savings the solar power system will bring will allow the club to continue to operate longer opening hours to allow for more junior cricket and football. It will also open up some of our more energy demanding facilities such as the showers to our junior sides.  “We are very grateful to Enovert Community Trust for its grant, which will help secure the future of this important community club.”  In addition to helping to reduce energy costs,  » Read More

San Angelo’s clubhouse named one of the top mental health services in Texas – Yahoo

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — State Rep. Drew Darby was in San Angelo on Thursday, Nov. 6, to speak about the legislative update on mental health policies in Texas. At the Tom Green County Library, community members joined education and health professionals for a seminar where they heard about recent mental health policy changes in Austin and how Concho Valley services can be impacted. “We have made a lot of progress on access to care, on early intervention, on addressing the nexus between the mental health system and the criminal justice system, but that also, we have a long way to go, that there are significant gaps still in the mental health care system,” said Greg Hansch, NAMI Texas Executive Director. Hansch also stated that San Angelo’s clubhouse, which is affiliated with the National Alliance on Mental Health, is one of the best in the state. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. LPGA Strikes Deal To Sanction Saudi-Backed Aramco Tournament In Las Vegas

Saudi Arabia finally has a deal with American golf under an agreement announced Wednesday for the LPGA Tour to co-sanction a PIF Global Series event at prestigious Shadow Creek in Las Vegas next spring. The Aramco Championship will be held from April 2-5 at Shadow Creek with 120 players from the LPGA and the Ladies European Tour. The $4 million purse rates among the highest outside the majors. It’s the first big announcement for Craig Kessler, who took over as LPGA commissioner in July. He said the Aramco Championship “reflects exactly where we’re headed in building the global schedule for our tour.” “We often talk about routing, courses and purses, and this event checks every box,” Kessler said. “We also recognize that partnerships like this — built on LET’s longstanding collaboration with Golf Saudi and PIF — can help strengthen the women’s game on a global scale and elevate opportunities for our athletes.” The Aramco Championship is one of five tournaments that make up the series, which the Public Investment Fund rebranded this year while raising the prize money.  » Read More
