Waylan Niece resigned from the Volusia County Affordable Housing Committee after posting "8647" on Facebook. Republicans interpret the numbers 8647 as a threat against President Trump, while Niece claims it showed support for James Comey, who made a similar anti-Trump post. Niece is on administrative leave from his job pending an investigation. Waylan Niece, the DeLand social-services administrator facing scrutiny over a recent Facebook post, has resigned from the Volusia County Affordable Housing Committee. Volusia County Councilman Jake Johansson said Niece left the panel on May 20, several days after posting "8647," a message local Republicans took as a threat against the life of President Donald Trump.
