Police say Michael Ryan Burke was fatally shot late Sunday after arranging to sell his phone through Facebook Marketplace. Investigators say the potential buyers arrived armed, stole the phone, and opened fire. Emergency radio traffic captured the chaos as officers responded to the scene, reporting “shots fired with a confirmed victim” and an unknown suspect location. According to police, Burke was critically wounded but still managed to call 911. A longtime friend, Jerry Reifeiss, said Burke was determined not to let the suspects escape. “He did not want these people to just get away with this — literally get away with murder,” Reifeiss said. (KNSI) — The St. Cloud Area School Board voted to censure member Natalie Copeland for comments she made in an expletive-laden social media rant about ongoing Immigration and Customs Enforcement action. Copeland expressed anger on Facebook over what she described as ICE operations affecting students. She wrote in her now-deleted post that her daughter was unable to focus on a forensics test because her brain was in “think, fight, flight, or freeze mode.” She added that students were “on high alert.” She went on to curse President Donald Trump and anyone who voted for him. Wednesday night’s vote was five to one to censure Copeland for violating board policy 209, specifically for conduct unbecoming of a board member. Gina Acevedo was the only member who voted against the censure, and Copland herself abstained. Board Chair Shannon Hawes read a resolution stating that the social media post had caused stress, undermined public confidence, and unnecessarily used staff time and resources. A decorated Marine veteran was fatally shot at his home during a Facebook Marketplace sale — and he spent his final moments describing his attackers to police over the phone before heartbreakingly texting his family goodbye. Michael Ryan Burke, 42, was gunned down during a sale-turned-robbery involving a cellphone at his home in Columbia, Missouri on Sunday, according to the Columbia Police Department.
