Anne Ellsworth (L) is replacing Julia Warga (R) on the Mount Vernon Municipal Planning Commission. | Linkedin The Mount Vernon City Council voted unanimously, 7-0, for a resolution to appoint Anne Ellsworth to replace Julia Warga on the city Municipal Planning Commission. The vote was at the Tuesday Sept. 11 council meeting. The resolution was sponsored by Third Ward City Council Member Tammy Woods. Ellsworth will fill Warga's unexpired six-year term that began on Jan. 25, 2022 and that ends on Jan. 24, 2028, Warga spent 20 years at Kenyon College, most recently as "director of research and instruction," before taking a position in July as Library Director for John Carroll University in University Heights, in suburban Cleveland. According to her Linkedin page, Ellsworth has worked for Kenyon College for 16 years, most recently as "Director of Parent Giving." She's a 2004 graduate of Kenyon, holding a B.A. in Drama. Members of the Municipal Planning Commission include Mayor Matthew T. Starr (Chairman), Richard Dzik, Todd Hawkins, Austin Swallow, Eric Diehl and Jason West. Everton concluded their pre-season campaign with a thoroughly entertaining contest against Manchester City at Walton Hall Park. The hosts were narrowly beaten 4-3 on Saturday afternoon as two late strikes from City condemned the Toffees to defeat. A Martina Piemonte header put Everton in front after 26 minutes, with Nicoline Sorensen coming off the bench to net a brace which put the Blues back in front. Photo: LinkedIn PTI Seattle, September 16 Jaahnavi Kandula, the Indian student who was struck and killed by a speeding police car here, will be awarded her master's degree posthumously, the Chancellor of Northeastern University has announced, hoping that the ongoing probe will bring a measure of justice and accountability. Kandula, a 23-year-old student at Washington State's Northeastern University, was struck at a pedestrian crossing on January 23. Kandula was set to graduate the coming December with a master's degree in information systems from the Seattle campus of Northeastern University. Her family said she was working towards supporting her mother in India. Saddened by Kandula's death, Kenneth W Henderson, Chancellor of Northeastern University, in a statement issued on the university's official Facebook page on Friday said, "Her loss will be felt deeply by students, staff and faculty. The university plans to award Jaahnavi her degree posthumously and present it to her family. "In the days following this tragedy, our Seattle campus community joined together in a vigil of remembrance and solidarity. LinkedIn has gained an extra level of assurance for advertisers, with the Media Ratings Council (MRC) granting accreditation on several of LinkedIn’s display ad metrics. After submitting to a voluntary MRC audit, LinkedIn’s processes have now been verified by the Council, meaning that LinkedIn’s measurement and reporting systems adhere to industry standards across several key areas relating to ethical operations, disclosure, and delivery. As per LinkedIn: “We have received MRC accreditation for four display ad metrics: gross impression, net impression, gross click, and net click in desktop, mobile web, and mobile in-app. Our accreditation is applicable to Sponsored Content Ads, Text, and Dynamic Ad formats.” That’ll provide additional peace of mind for LinkedIn marketers, who can trust that LinkedIn’s processes on these elements have been checked and approved by an independent industry body.
