The acronym applies to investment strategies that take environmental, social and governance factors into account, and these days serves as a stand-in for all strategies marketed as sustainable investments.By year-end 2022, following broad declines in the stock and bond markets, investor assets in sustainable investments amounted to $8.4 trillion, or about 12.6% of all U.S. assets under management, according to the Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment (US SIF).In other words, 1 in every 8 U.S. investor dollars is in a sustainable fund. The growing prominence of and demand for ESG investments has attracted the attention of politicians and regulators. Last month, President Joe Biden used his first veto to preserve a Department of Labor rule allowing employers to select ESG options for their 401(k) plans.Meanwhile, politicians in Texas and other states have put measures in place to ban fund companies they see as "boycotting" energy companies from doing business with the state. Critics have even decried ESG strategies as needlessly "woke."All of which raises a couple of important questions: What are ESG investments exactly? And what role could they play in your portfolio? What is an ESG fund?ESG has become a catch-all acronym for

And 40% are concerned about being victims of gun violence or a mass shooting. They're also worried about the state of the economy.73% believe that homelessness could happen to anyone

In its B2B digital ad spending forecast for the US, eMarketer predicted that display will surpass search to account for a greater share of B2B advertising in 2023. While there are several factors driving this, the proliferation of B2B mobile advertising is among the strongest. Tequia Burt at LinkedIn notes that the focus of mobile advertising is largely on brand awareness campaigns. However, it seems that more and more buyers are using their phone to take meaningful steps in the purchase journey. This tallies with Gartner research across hundreds of B2B buyers which found that over 80% of B2B buyers prefer ordering or paying through digital commerce. “In addition to upper-funnel brand awareness campaigns, marketers should continue targeting their audiences on mobile throughout the journey, retargeting those who interacted with early ads to stay present, gain mental availability, and drive action on their terms,” Burt advises. “Mobile first doesn’t just apply to web pages anymore, or even form fills.

Whole Foods sells it, Bon Appétit gave it a rave, and Food & Wine magazine called it a “cool kid olive oil.” As The Wall Street Journal noted this year, Graza struck a “sweet spot” in the market with its two extra-virgin olive oil bottles, the Drizzle ($20) and

Photo courtesy: BagoGames Microsoft-owned LinkedIn saw record engagement in the March quarter as more than 930 million members globally now turn to the professional social network to connect, learn, sell and get hired. “… We now have 100 million members in India, up 19%. And as Gen Z enters the workforce, we saw 73% year-over-year increase in the number of student sign-ups,” said Microsoft chief executive officer (CEO) Satya Nadella during the quarterly earnings conference call. LinkedIn’s growth is a recurring theme across the Indian digital landscape, which is largely driven by cheap internet rates and affordable smartphones. The platform counts India as a major market owing to the country’s vibrant younger demographic and a huge talent pool. “Our hiring business took share for the third consecutive quarter. The excitement around AI is creating new opportunities across every function from marketing, sales and finance to software development and security,” said Nadella. LinkedIn's revenue increased 8 per cent in the March quarter for the tech

But men are rebounding faster than women, Women Impac Tech CEO Paula Bratcher Ratliff tells Axios. What they're saying: "Men who were laid off recently were able to land new jobs within 90 days," Bratcher Ratliff says."It has taken their female counterparts almost two times longer."By the numbers: Only about 30% of Chicago's tech workforce is female, per Women Impact Tech.In management and leadership, that number shrinks to 16%. In executive leadership, it goes down even further, to 10%.The intrigue: Bratcher Ratliff believes gender bias is the reason women aren't returning to the sector as quickly."When almost 75% of the tech population is male, you're going to have some bias in the interviewing process and in the hiring process."Zoom in: She also believes the key to bridging this gap is by helping women build their networks."Women have a tendency to not build large networks, because we do a lot of work-life balance; we're really responsible for a lot more in the home than our male counterparts.""That's
